DAVF Angio

DSA Angiographic Findings:

Left ECA Injection: demonstrates early venous drainage and multiple distended vessels which drains into superficial cortical veins.

There is non-opacification of the left transverse and sigmoid sinus

Sole drainage through the right sinus: causes further congestion as blood is only exiting from one side.

Angiographic Findings:
   Corticovenous reflux (CVR)
   Distended cortical veins
   Superficial venous drainage pathway

Borden Classification: type III - direct drainage into subarachnoid veins or into an isolated segment of the venous sinus (which results from a thrombosis on either side of the dural sinus segment)

equivalent to Cognard type III, IV and V

Treatment Approach:

Coiling of the isolated segment through a transcranial (burr hole) approach. The isolated portion of the transverse sinus was directly injected.
